Coaches serve as the strategic backbone and primary developmental guides for their players. They are responsible for meticulously planning and running high-quality practice sessions that focus on both individual skill refinement and team-wide game tactics. Beyond technical drills, these coaches act as mentors and role models, actively influencing players' mental resilience and confidence to help them navigate high-pressure competitive environments. A critical part of their role involves providing continuous, constructive feedback that allows players to adapt their strategies and stay ahead of the competition. Furthermore, coaches oversee the physical well-being of the team by assessing readiness for play, enforcing safety protocols, and offering guidance on nutrition and injury prevention to ensure long-term athletic success.
Captains of the Annihilators act as the essential bridge between the coaching staff and the rest of the roster, serving as both on-field leaders and peer mentors. Unlike coaches who manage from the sidelines, captains are embedded in the team, responsible for maintaining high levels of attitude, effort, and energy during both practices and games. They lead by example, often being the first to sprint on and off the field, and they hold their teammates accountable for their actions to ensure the team culture remains strong. Beyond physical performance, they play a vital role in team chemistry by encouraging players, helping them "stay out of their own heads" during high-pressure moments, and facilitating communication to resolve internal issues before they escalate. By modeling leadership, sportsmanship, and resilience, these captains help their teammates grow as both athletes and individuals.
